I'd like everyone on my friends list to meet Asher. Asher is the son of some friends of mine. He was born in January, right around 29/30 weeks gestation. As you can see he was undergoing phototherapy and was very ill.
This year I am participating in the March Of Dimes March for Babies on Asher's behalf. The primary goal of March of Dimes is to raise Money that goes towards improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. I have walked in the last 4 of 5 years for March of Dimes on my Mother's behalf (She was born with birth defects in the 1960s) and now I am walking on behalf of Asher.
Asher is doing better as of this posting. He is currently weighing in at just over 3lbs and his parents (Chelsea and Ryan) are eagerly counting the days till he can come home with them. Chelsea and Ryan are very blessed and so happy for their first-born child and son Asher to have entered this world safely.
As of Monday February 15th 2010 Asher finally went home from the hospital! His mom and dad are excited to finally have him home and are having a great time!
I hope you can find it in your hearts to donate, even just $1, to help me reach (and surpass) my goal and help Asher and babies like Asher and the March of Dimes make great strides in the health of premature and sick infants.
